******ALL MID SEASON REGISTRATIONS ARE 1/2 PRICE ******

WELCOME TO THE BOYS SPRING 2023 REGISTRATION WITH KINGWOOD YOUTH LACROSSE

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation in our Boys Spring Lacrosse League,  and arrange payment.

 

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. 

 

REGISTRATION FEES...

WHAT DOES YOUR SPRING REGISTRATION  PAY FOR?

YOUR PLAYER'S FEE COVERS:

  • Fields - Our outdoor fields at Healy Sportsplex is the biggest expense in our budget.  Field maintenance crew, utilities, waste management, water etc. 
  • Tournaments  - Tournaments charge entry fees per team we have at least two during Spring season.
  • Overhead expenses - website, storage unit, flyers, community signs, supplies, taxes, transaction fees, bank fees etc.
  • Referees - Home game referees are contracted from (TXLOA) which is the USA Lacrosse-approved training and certifying organization for the sport of men’s and boys’ lacrosse in the Greater Houston area.  US Lacrosse and OHSAA provide guidelines for the number of referees required per game.  The officials associations establish fees.
  • Program Equipment/Practice jerseys - Some programs offer equipment the registrant will keep.  The cost of this equipment is factored into that registration fee (not distributed). We also buy our own goals, balls, etc. 

YOUR PLAYER GETS:

  • At least 80 hours of practices, skill drills, Lacrosse IQ and awesome coaching over the 18 week Spring season (4U-8U)
  • Two city-wide tournaments (pre-season & end-season)
  • At least 12-15 games (home and greater Houston area; 2U has slightly less games per season) 
  • A reversible practice jersey
  • A love for Lacrosse. We encourage players and members to love the game of lacrosse.
  • Improved skill sets that transfers to all sports. We teach the game of lacrosse in a manner that enables every player to achieve their desired skill level
  • Life lessons. Lacrosse teaches life lessons (honor, effort, resilience, teamwork and respect) through sports
  • KYLAX instills a competitive spirit in every player.  Other objectives take precedence, but winning matters and learning to win with honor and lose with grace is a life skill.
  • Make lifelong friends and memories

KYLAX is now offering EARLY BIRD pricing to encourage players to register before December 2022. 

This is to help start the uniform ordering process earlier- due to supply chain demands. 

Unfortunately, it is taking significantly longer to get items, and it is important to register your player(s) early to ensure you get their uniforms in time.

 

We are also giving families the choice to pay in full or to break up their registration dues by utilizing the monthly payment plan option at checkout.  If you have multiple players to register, please add all their registrations BEFORE checking out.  Sibling discounts will automatically be applied to your cart as follows:

2 Siblings - $50 off total fee |  3 Siblings - $100 off total fee  | 4 siblings - $175 off total fee 

 

 

KYLAX Uniforms  |   Kingwood Youth Lacrosse is getting new uniforms! 

For the Spring 22-23 Season, players purchase their own uniform. Price range is $80-$100 and has options of Jersey/shorts or Jersey/Shorts/Shooter shirt. They will get to choose their size,  choose their number, and get to keep their uniform!  More details to come.

 

2U players will not need to purchase a uniform.

 

Link to order will be available after you complete your registration!! 

 

All K-8 players will still be issued a new reversible practice jersey as part of their registration cost.

TIME COMMITMENT:

 

Practices will begin the week of 1/2/23

 

2U practices are typically two days a week for 1-1.5 hours

Depending on enrollment, due to growth we may have an "in-house" option as well

 

8U/6U/4U will be held 2-3 times a week between the hours of 6-8pm

Saturday practices/ pickup games are a possibility until games start later in the season  

 

The exact days/times of are TBD by the coach. 

This will be communicated closer to the start of the season.

 

 ALL practices are held at Healy SportsPlex.

 

 

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT :

 

We do not REQUIRE volunteer hours per family or a paper check to hold like some organizations.  We ABSOLUTLEY need volunteers to help, and we cant do it with out YOU... but we do not require it.

 

Each team will need the following positions filled:

 

Team Manager (Parent Coordinator/Team Mom)

Assistant Coaches/ Practice helpers

Scorekeepers Volunteers

 Concession Stand volunteers (Home Games)

Team photographer (just a parent designated to take pics )

 

This just helps the season go smooth, and lets the coaches focus on coaching!

Plus it gets you involved and plugged into the #kingwoodlaxfamily

 

 

We also have some OPEN BOARD POSITIONS.  We would love to hear from you if your interested in joining the board or serving on the Fundraising committee this year.  We are a blast! There is a section in registration to let us know if you have ANY interest in helping. 

 

 

FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT :

 

We have a big season fundraiser in the Spring with a silent auction and community involvement

 

Each player is responsible for selling $100 worth of raffle tickets

(typically 10 tickets @$10 each for silent Auction or similar event)

 

 

We will also have Spirit Nights at various local eateries, which are optional of course, but just another way to help out our non-profit club organization.

USA Lacrosse Requirement

You must register first with USA Lacrosse and then return to this Registration Session to signup.  If you have not already signed up with USA Lacrosse, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1:  Obtain current USA Lacrosse Membership
    • IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT USA LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP:  https://membership.usalacrosse.org/to go to USA Lacrosse Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with US Lacrosse. Each player must have their own unique US Lacrosse confirmation number.
    • TO LOOK UP/RENEW A USA LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP:  https://memberlookup.usalacrosse.org/usl/index to go to USA Lacrosse Membership Lookup.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Lacrosse Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
